Angel Guard
Angel Guard protects exposed silver from tarnishing by contact with the air over time. Developed for use in the semi-conductor industry, Angel Guard has no effect on the reflectivity or conductivity of silver making it an excellent choice for telescopes, sextants, cameras and other scientific mirrors. This product offers an easy way to protect the silver inside of blown glass sculptures that can be difficult to dry.
Angel Guard does not protect the mirror from abrasion. Mirrors coated with Angel Guard will need special housing to prevent random contact with other objects. It does not protect silver from direct contact with antiquing chemicals.
NOTE: Angel Guard makes the silver surface repel water so it can be difficult to rinse off. Thorough rinsing is required to get the best protection.
The Oregon Scope Werks group of amateur telescope makers published their Anti-Tarnish Testing results.
