Mounting a hand-made mirror protected by air-dried backing paint with mirror mastic presents 2 separate problems. Fumes from the mastic can tarnish the silver over time. The mirror can accidentally break sending sharp shards of glass flying.
Our Aluminum Foil Safety Tape:
Protects the silver from fumes that out-gas as the mastic cures.
Holds the glass shards in place if the mirror brakes or falls.
To achieve these results, the back of the mirror must be completely covered with tape. We have aluminum foil safety tape available in 6 sizes.
We strongly recommend using additional mechanical supports for large or heavy mirrors.
