Fine Line Silver Removal Kit

Description

This kit allows you to create complex clear glass patterns in a commercial mirror. The edges of the shapes are defined by the edges of the new mirror backing paint you apply. Because mirror backing paint is brittle, it creates clean sharp lines between the silver and the clear glass.

Our Vinyl Mask Kit contains everything you need to draw and cut the vinyl masks by hand.

This kit works equally well with silver and aluminum mirrors.

I need a 50-50 semi-transparent mirror for a scientific project. I was thinking of buying a mirror and removing part of the silver. Do you think it's realistic? And do you think a semi mirror can be achieved with silvering a clear glass? Dan [email protected]

Hi, unfortunately that will likely not work. It is very hard if not impossible to evenly remove an even thin layer of silver given how thin the layer is. We recommend silvering the glass itself and allowing it to deposit for less time than usual.
