The 400 designs in this book are half in color and half in grayscale and include Victorian wreaths, stylized Prairie School lines, idealized landscapes, Art Noveau florals and geometric patterns for beveled glass. This book is not a modern compilation of old designs. It was complied in 1909 by the catalog committee of the National Ornamental Glass Manufacturers Association from 3,000 designs sent in by member studios across the US and Canada. The goal of the Association was to put together a first class catalogue that members could use for residential commissions. Today you can find these designs in bungalows and four-squares across the country. Their rich colors and balanced lines have played an important role in the development of the American taste for generations.
