A clean, wet surface is essential to successful mirroring. Even the lightest fingerprint creates a barrier between the mirroring chemicals and the glass.
- Clean and polish with hot tap water (about 110 ° F) and then rinse with distilled water.
- Use concentrated Glass Cleaner to clean inside a glass container. Do not use cerium oxide.

A Simple Test: You know that the glass is clean when a thin film of water will cover it without beading up anywhere. The water must "sheet" off the glass.
