Cleaning

A clean, wet surface is essential to successful mirroring. Even the lightest fingerprint creates a barrier between the mirroring chemicals and the glass.

A Simple Test:
You know the glass is clean if a thin layer of water covers it without beading up anywhere - if the water "sheets" off the glass.

  • Clean and polish with hot tap water (about 110 ° F) and then rinse with distilled water.
  • Use concentrated Glass Cleaner to clean inside a glass container. Do not use cerium oxide.
  • Our Wetting Agent will cause the water to "sheet" off of plastics.
Our video on Pouring Silver shows you how we clean and polish flat glass.
